Come work with John and learn ways to design student facing AI-based activities that do not encourage cheating but, rather, help students extend their thinking and personalize their learning journey efficiently. Exemplars of student facing AI activities, in each core content area as well as for elementary through high school, will be provided.

John Schembari, EdD, is a school improvement consultant and former school/district administrator. Currently, he partners with the Center for Educational Innovation, Fordham University, CUNY/Brooklyn College, New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, TNTP, and the School Culture and Climate Initiative in this work. Check out his guest appearance on the Have a Life Teaching Podcast from April 16, 2024 where John discusses “How to Teach with AI: Practical Tips” with Jose Antonio Bowen.

Instructionally, John has served as a middle school teacher, a high school social studies teacher, a founding high school principal, a K-12 district Chief Academic Officer, a leadership development facilitator, and as a national director of teacher and school leader learning.  John has also lived and worked internationally in Japan, Saudi Arabia, and The United Kingdom, and he occasionally performs site reviews of American curriculum schools in The United Arab Emirates.

Raised in New Jersey, John received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington (VA), his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh (PA), his second master’s degree in educational supervision from Montclair State University and his doctorate in educational leadership from Seton Hall University.
