For fifteen years, the Whole Child is a movement with deep grass roots that has taken hold with student advocates at all levels in education. Dedicated to the ideal that all children deserve to grow fully in all ways, not just cognitively, is achieving academic and life success: the conviction that each child in each school everywhere is given the opportunities, resources and supports to be college, career and citizenship ready! Now, Dr. Leigh Alley at the University of Maine at Augusta has developed the first-ever Masters of Arts degree dedicated to Whole Child Education.

Leigh is a longtime leadership and instructional strategist, who serves as a member of the education faculty at the University of Maine at Augusta. As the director of consortia for school improvement, as a private consultant, and as a project director, She has designed and implemented instructional programs in a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, proficiency-based education, literacy, social-emotional learning, multi-tiered intervention, whole-child education, and equity in post-secondary access.
